Why is Lopez the perfect driver for the team? He hasn’t driven a formula car in a couple of years much less a car with the dynamics of a F1 car. Since they aren’t going after American drivers I’m surprised they didn’t have discussions with Petrov, the Russian driver with pockets full of money and the guy who finished 2nd in GP2 last year. Even with the rumors of some problems with his backing, he seems the more experienced driver. What they need is a current or recent F1 driver with a reputation for car development.

I hope they will have a sollid design and team so they will build an healthy long lasting American F1 team. To do so I think they should consider an experienced driver like Jarno Trulli or Heikki Kovalainen to help them in the right direction. But i fear they will have to employ an american driver and go for the money they bring along. Good luck to them.
